After ironing out some initial gremlins in both the GT3 and GT4 cars, Team WFR had an extremely successful day of qualifying for the first round of the British GT at Oulton Park on Saturday.
Despite only doing one test prior to arriving at Oulton Park, Jody Firth managed to qualify the Ginetta G55 in 11th for Race 1, while teammate Riki Christodoulou did superb in his first ever GT qualifying session and will start Race 2 from 12th on the grid.
In the GT4 class, with a much more race-ready car, Jody Fannin qualified the G50 in pole position for Race 1 ahead of the Porsche Motorbase GT3 car and his team-mate Warren Hughes managed to put it 3rd on the grid for Race 2.
The team are satisfied with the result but will be looking for a marked improvement in the races and admit that both cars have more to give. And as there is no running at the Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire tomorrow the team have an extra day to work on the car.
